On the occasion of the 76th Venice International Film Festival, the Biennale di Venezia, in collaboration with the agency Photomovie, is organizing a photo exhibition called “RITRATTI – OPERE UNICHE 300 Polaroid Giganti raccontano i protagonisti della Biennale Cinema dal 1996 al 2004” (PORTRAIT – UNIQUE WORKS: 300 Giant Polaroids represent the protagonists of the Biennale Cinema from 1996 to 2004), which collects 300 photographs taken with the Giant Camera: an instant camera designed by Polaroid in very few specimens that produces photos in maxi format whose negatives, during the development, are destroyed, leaving only unique, non-reproducible positives.
The photographs depict the protagonists of the various editions of the Venice Film Festival from 1996 to 2004: the winners of the Golden Lions, the members of the juries, the masters of the Italian cinema and the international stars who paraded on the red carpet. IMEX was chosen to enhance each of these unique portraits with a frame that could represent a real, true artistic element, capable of taking part of the communication process, enriching it with unique taste and style.
The exhibition will be held at the Hotel des Bains, Lido di Venezia, from August 26th to September 7th 2019, and once again IMEX is playing the delicate and important role of link between the industrial and the artistic worlds, thanks to the constant creation of solutions that give a solid support to the countless expressions of art.
