Industriamoci Award – A great victory for the area

Premiazione Premio Industiamoci

Confagricoltura Bergamo, Confartigianato Imprese Bergamo, Police Headquarters, Accademia Guardia di Finanza, Carabinieri and Vigili del Fuoco participated in the 14th edition of PMI DAY, and a total of 103 companies opened their doors to 56 schools, welcoming around 4,200 students.

During the company visits, which took place between November 2023 and January 2024, the entrepreneurs spoke with one or more classes, focusing on daily activities and challenges, answering questions from students and teachers.

In conjunction with the 14th National Day of Small and Medium Enterprises, the Industriamoci Award was organized and promoted by the Small Enterprises Committee of Confindustria Bergamo, a contest that offers young people the opportunity to come into direct contact with local production realities, guiding them to discover of a continuously evolving sector and constantly looking for adequate professional skills.

The classes that wanted to delve deeper into the topics covered during the visit, with special attention to the chosen theme, “Freedom”, presented 14 projects.

Freedom, territory and the Piccole Colombe

In this context of exchange, study and reflection on the theme of freedom, three large realites met to give life to an idea: Imex, Meccanica Gervasoni and the 3rd A-B-C classes of the secondary school of San Pellegrino Terme joined forces and creativity to participate in the contest to give new freedom to parents who work in the main industrial companies in the area.

The project, which the children gave the name “Piccole Colombe” (Little Doves) and which they carried out with the support of teachers and company representatives, involves the creation of a company nursery school in Lenna, using a building made available from Meccanica Gervasoni; an independent house with a large garden which, due to its characteristics and location, would lend itself particularly well to serving the area with its new use.

In fact, the conciliation between work and family has always been one of the most important expressions of freedom, even if it is not always possible for both parents. Furthermore, those who live in mountain areas like the one that hosts us experience an additional difficulty: that of a harsh territory, where services are not always sufficient to cover needs and are not necessarily close by.

The productive hub of Lenna is a point of reference for the entire Alta Val Brembana, it’s therefore important to support the communities with concrete actions, for example by trying to ensure a right that must not be missing: the right of parenthood, together with the recognition of one’s working potential, developed through years of studies, effort and sacrifice.

The awards ceremony and the victory

During the awards ceremony of the Premio Industriamoci competition, which was held on 23 May 2024 at the Confindustria Bergamo Auditorium, the “Piccole Colombe” project won first place on the podium, in front of an audience full of happy, enthusiastic young people proud of their work, and entrepreneurs pleasantly surprised by the commitment and passion expressed by a generation that represents the potential continuation of their activities.

Participation in the Industriamoci Award represented, for “our” team, the ideal point of contact and dialogue between school, business and territory; it has become a laboratory where points of view met, where the experiences of those already in the world of work were intertwined with the energy, creativity and freshness of those who had to enter, giving life to unexpected and interesting projects .
